8/13/2008 - DBM's First SBIR Award

DiscoveryBioMed recently learned that one of its initial Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications will be funded later in the year. "This award will fund the initial phase of a novel HTS-friendly screening program designed to find small molecule ligands that may be transformed into drugable therapeutics for renal hypertensive disorders, hypertension in general, and cystic fibrosis.  It is an exciting development for a company such as ours, especially since there is a great deal of competition for these grants," said DBM's Director, Dr. Erik Schwiebert.
